Emergency Transport Support
Emergency Transport Support for Suspected Stroke
Ladda-SSV provides free transport support for eligible suspected stroke cases within the Ladda-SSV village network. Support begins through the Stroke Helpline, followed by phone and video assessment by the Ladda-SSV team.
Call. Assess. Transport if eligible.
Call the Stroke Helpline and explain the concern clearly.
The situation is assessed by phone and video where needed.
If the case fits the pathway, transport support is arranged.
Call first for suspected stroke.
Please do not bring an acute suspected stroke patient directly to Mata Rupinder Clinic or the Ladda hub. The emergency pathway starts with a helpline call.
What This Support Covers
Stroke-Only Transport Support
This support is designed for suspected stroke situations only. It is not a general ambulance service and does not replace other emergency systems for non-stroke medical problems.
For suspected stroke cases
Support is considered when symptoms suggest stroke and the family enters the pathway through the Stroke Helpline.
For the village network
Emergency transport support is currently available within the Ladda-SSV village network.
After assessment
Transport is arranged only when the Ladda-SSV team confirms that the suspected case fits the model’s criteria.
Transport support only
The foundation supports eligible transport. Hospital charges, tests, medicines, and treatment costs are not covered.
The Transport Pathway
How the Process Works
The pathway is phone-first so the right support can be coordinated before a patient is moved.
Call the helpline
A family member or local helper calls the Stroke Helpline and explains the symptoms.
Phone assessment
A nurse assesses the concern by phone and guides the caller on the next step.
Driver contacted
If needed, a trained local driver is contacted based on availability and location.
Video assessment
The driver helps connect the patient or family with the Ladda-SSV team by video.
Team review
A Ladda-SSV team member reviews the situation, with physician support or supervision as needed.
Consent and approval
If the case is eligible, consent is taken and transport support is arranged.
Transport to stroke care
The patient is moved through the appropriate stroke-care pathway as guided by the team.
Usual Destination
Where Eligible Patients Are Usually Taken
For eligible transported cases, the usual destination is the Stroke Unit at Civil Hospital Sangrur. Further care is then guided through the stroke-unit pathway.
In exceptional severe situations, a different route may be considered only when it is clinically coordinated. Families should not assume a direct transfer outside the usual pathway without assessment.

The Ladda-SSV team guides the transport decision after helpline and video assessment.
Important Safety Guidance
What Families Should Not Do
Clear action during a suspected stroke can prevent confusion and delay. Please follow the helpline-first pathway.
Do not go directly to the clinic
Acute suspected stroke patients should not be brought directly to Mata Rupinder Clinic or the Ladda hub.
Do not wait for symptoms to improve
Stroke can be time-sensitive. Call the helpline as soon as stroke is suspected.
Do not use this for all emergencies
This pathway is for suspected stroke only, not accidents, heart attacks, or other emergencies.
Do not assume hospital costs are covered
The foundation supports eligible transport, but hospital charges and treatment costs are not covered.
Do not skip the assessment
Transport support can only be arranged after the Ladda-SSV pathway confirms eligibility.
Local Support
Supported by Trained Local Drivers
Ladda-SSV works with trained local drivers within the village network. When a suspected stroke case is assessed and approved for transport support, the nearest available driver may be contacted to help the patient reach the stroke-care pathway.
Driver support depends on availability, location, and eligibility under the Ladda-SSV process.
Service Boundary
Available Within the Ladda-SSV Village Network
Emergency transport support is currently limited to the Ladda-SSV village network. The current coverage list is maintained on the Village Network page.
